I can say my 2017 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon has seen lots of salt and it still looks very good after 4 years of Wisconsin Salty roads. I will try and get some photos of the products on the Tremor so you can see what it looks like. It will hide any rusty areas but over a season or two will bubble or peel off.Īs of today I like the combination of the Fluid Film and the Amsoil Corrosion protection products. The way it sprays out of the can is spotty and you get heavy overspray at times. There are areas it bubbles up with rust under it. I used a ton of it on my 2012 Ford SVT Raptor. First of all this product does peel off over a year or two and I do not believe it really helps control the corrosion and rust as well as the other two products. I used the 3M brand black undercoating on my Tremor and Jeep. I coated the oil pan, drain plug and bolts ( on the oil pan) on all the trucks. Now the transfer case and transmission look like brand new. My aluminum transmission and transfer case( on the jeep) were corroded with white spots, I sprayed this product on and wiped it around. They claim it will soften any rubber based undercoatings or any rubber products that are not oil resistant. Making sure to wipe the excess overspray. You can use it for wire connections, so I sprayed some in my trailer hitch plugs and my winch plug up front. It smells real bad, trust me I play ice hockey and often goalie, my gear stinks, but this stuff smells awful. I did not like the product at first but now after the treatment the parts look awesome. I went crazy and sprayed and wiped my winch on the Tremor and my Rubicon. I sprayed the trailer hitch then wiped it with my shop rag, did the driveshafts, sway bars, brake calipers and misc bolts and nuts. The product is like an oil or grease, it does not dry like the Amsoil but stays a bit wet or greasy. So I used a new shop rag and decided to spray it on and wipe it around. This product comes out very thick and globs up ( for lack of a better word). I got three 11.75 cans of the clear from Amazon next day. I looked at this product and CRC corrosion products. I buy from a dealer but he set me up with a commercial account. Retail price is too much, they offer so many different product prices. Other Problem with Amsoil is the the tiered price structure. I like to have a can or two in my shop for products and quick treatments. The product is hard to get right now and there is a hold on it. it dries after 12 hours and is ok to touch. I used it on the new front end parts on my Rubicon, the Fox shocks and dual stabilizer on the Tremor, inside the bumpers on all the vehicles. It can be removed with a solvent based cleaner or gasoline on a rag ( not my idea). To let you know I am also treating my 2017 Jeep Rubicon with combinations of the products.įirst of all, I like this product. Here is my simple take on the two products and some of the black rubberized products out there. I am using a combination of Amsoil Corrosion Protection and Fluid Film to keep my investments in top condition. Here in SE Wisconsin they dump a ton of salt and other corrosive ( ice busting) agents on the roads.
